(1) Brian M. says:

I had a calcaneal osteotomy, lateral column lengthening and a tendon tranfer to repair “adult-acquired” flatfoot which caused a lot of pain during and after distance running. They had to cut some bones, as the name suggests.

I was wondering how soon after such a surgery could one resume a low-impact cardiovascular excercise such as riding a recumbent stationary bike where you aren’t supporting your body weight. It has been two weeks since surgery and I’m starting to feel and see the effects of the inactivity. The doctor said “non-weight-bearing” until further notice, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a similar surgery and could tell me how long it was before they were allowed back in the gym.
