Physical Therapy and You

Sunday January 4, 2009
People frequently ask me "do you think physical therapy will help?" The answer often is yes! Physical therapy is useful for a wide variety of disorders, from debilitating disease to orthopedic injuries. If you have any of the following conditions, PT is right for you:

Back/Neck Pain
Joint Sprains
Arthritis
Muscle Tightness
Paresis
Loss of Balance
Decreased Strength

Of course this is only a small list. If you are wondering if physical therapy is right for you, ask your physician today.

Laura,

I have spent about 4 weeks in PT at the request of my doctor since having the surgery on my right foot almost 7 months ago.

I never noticed an improvement with the program that they started me on although I am slow when it comes to some things including recovery from surgery.

I have been discharged from PT by my doctor on Tues after he asked me if I was able to function.

With that in mind I do have one question. About how long should it take to notice improvement if it’s going to occur?
