Getting The Most Out Of Therapy

By August 13, 2009

Follow me on:

People often ask me what they can do to get the most out of their time in physical therapy.  The answer is actually quite simple, it is one of active participation.
Therapy sessions are often limited to one hour visits two to three times a week.  This adds up to only two to three hours of treatment in a one hundred and sixty eight hour week!   For this reason, it is important to continue with your therapy program even when not at the physical therapy clinic.
The easiest way to do so is by having your therapist teach you easy exercises to perform alone at home.  Studies have shown participation in a home exercise program will greatly improve your success in therapy.  So be active and continue your therapy outside of the clinic!
