The Link Between Running and Injuries

Although running is a great source of exercise, it is true that runners are more susceptible to various injuries. This increased risk is due to the stress that running places on the back, hips, and legs.
Each time a runner's foot hits the ground it generates forces equivalent to at least three times the body's weight. Maybe this is the reason 70% of runners will experience an injury at some point!
Some of the injuries runners are more prone to develop include the following:
Iliotibial Band Syndrome
Shin Splints
Runner's Knee
