Tendonitis

Definition: Tendonitis is an inflammatory disorder that affects the tendon. Tendons are structures that connect muscles to bone. When they become overused, such as with repetitive motion, tiny tears result in pain and swelling.

Common sites of tendonitis include the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.
