Treatment of Scoliosis

Scoliotic curves that are less than 20 degrees are usually only observed by physicians. Curves that are greater than 20 degrees may require conservative or surgical management.
Braces are a common way to treat scoliosis. They are often used in patients who's scoliosis curves are between 25-40 degrees.
Surgery is often recommended when the spinal curves are greater than 40 degrees.
Alternative treatment to scoliosis include physical therapy to provide exercises and electrical stimulation to skeletal muscles, as well as chiropractic manipulation.
