Computer Keyboard Positioning - A Way To Avoid Injury

Monday September 8, 2008
Proper keyboard positioning can help prevent the development of carpal tunnel syndrome as well as neck and back aches and pains. Use these tips to set up your keyboard correctly at work or home:
  • Position the keyboard directly in front of you so that your shoulders are relaxed and your upper arms rest comfortably.
  • Adjust your keyboard slope so that your forearms, wrists, and hands are in their neutral comfort zone.
  • When using a mouse, position the device immediately to the right or left of your keyboard. Not out of reach.
