Wolff's law states that bone grows in response to the stress that is put on it. Wolff's law comes to mind in physical therapy in the treatment of osteoporosis. Also, after a fracture, Wolff's law helps guide your physical therapist in providing the correct exercises for your condition.

If you have suffered a fracture, your physical therapist may prescribe exercises to help with the healing process. Things to keep in mind with exercise after fracture are the amount of force, the direction of force, and the location of force in relation to the fracture site.
