Plantar Fasciitis

Definition: Plantar fasciitis is a disorder that occurs when there is irritation and swelling of the plantar fascia, a thick band of connective tissue that runs from the heel bone to the toes. Plantar fasciitis causes pain along the bottom of the foot that is normally worse first thing in the morning.
